If you would like to play you can make your checks payable to "Daniel Stephens Fund" and mail them to Jeff Elszasz at 16900 Cumbermoore Lane, Umatilla, FL 32784. You can submit a team of four, please turn in all money at the same time with a list of the four players. This will make it easier to keep track of. For those of you who don't play there are a few options: you can make a donation or you can sponsor a hole. When you mail the check please make a note as to what it is for. We are trying to see if people can join us for lunch only and will let you know more when we get more information. The course is approx. 1 1/2 away from Dawn and Bills so for those of you who would like to stay close to the course, we are in the process of setting up some discounted rates at local hotels, again more info to follow at a later date. It is with great pleasure and honor that Jeff and I are able to pull this off. Dawn and I have been friends since the 3rd grade and Bill and Jeff just got roped into this friendship :) They are truly an amazing family and Daniel is the apple of my husbands eye! I know you guys in Alabama miss them but we are glad they are here! Thank you for taking the time to write to this blog and post pictures!

Golf Tournment

“DUFFERS” FOR DANIEL
Daniel Stephens is a 7 year old “Miracle Man”. Daniel suffers from a variety of illnesses including
scoliosis and kyphosis of the spine and asthma. He has been on a feeding tube his entire life and
now requires oxygen throughout the night. Daniel had 2 titanium rods placed in his back last year, which had to be removed due to the fact that he is allergic to every type of metal. Daniel is a true inspiration. He rarely complains and always tries to keep up with his 2 older sisters and older brother.

The benefit tournament for Daniel will be September 22, 2007 at The Country Club of Mount Dora. The format will be a four person scramble with an 8:30 shotgun start. The cost will be $75.00 per person including lunch. Hole sponsorships are available for $500.00, $250.00 & $100.00. There will be closest to the pin contests, a long drive contest, and a 50/50 putting contest

Daniel news from mommy

Enjoy this photo of Daniel and his girlfriend Cassie. She is a sweetheart like her entire family!! This was last year(I think) at a Christmas program. He is so "serious & studly" HA! Anyways, Daniel is doing well according to Dr. Phillips. We will see him again when we return from San Antonio unless we start to see an allergic reaction to the stainless steel in his arm before then. Daniel is also now on a BiPAP machine at night. This is to help him breathe better and keep his oxygen levels up. He does not like it much ... honestly ... who would !?!? We have been up for the last 3 nights off an on with him ... much like a having a newborn, but without the diapers! HA! Anyways, we are taking it in stride and getting ready to go to San Antonio. I hope to hear from ya'll and I'll write more later. Love you all!!

Daniel, I'm glad you have your new button and your sleep study is OVER!! Now you and Mommy can get some sleep. You and your family teach us all how to have faith and trust that God will take care of you. I will see you in August before you go to Texas. Can't wait!! I love you always.

Daniel's update from "mommy"

Hi Everyone,

Daniel got his new feeding button put in yesterday and it went very well. Daniel did have a sleep study last night and that went ok. They ended up putting him on a "c-pap" machine (I think that is what the nurse called it) around 2am. He was not happy, but we made it through. We should have results in about 10 days to 2 weeks. This was to check on how much oxygen he needs and possibly this other breathing machine. Daniel's post-op check on the piece of stainless steel in his arm scheduled for this afternoon at 2pm was cancelled because Dr. Phillips is out ill today. We will see him on Thursday this week at 10:45am. I'll get results out soon. Thanks to Jeff and Jennifer for setting this golf tournament up for Daniel!! We love you guys so much!! I'll check in as much as possible on this cool blog. This is my first time doing this so bare with me as I learn all about bloggin!! Love you all!!

Hello Stephens Family :-) we are praying for God's blessing for "ya'll" and Daniel as you prepare for your trip to Texas, for travel mercies and during the entire time you are there...for the doctor's wisdom etc! Hey Daniel!I hope everything went good today! Did you get a new button? I had a blast at your house over the 4th of July and especially had fun in your pool with you! can't wait to see you again! I'd love to come down for your golf tournament and tell your Dad, "Happy Birthday!"

Daniel Golf Tournament

Hey Everyone - we have created this site so everyone can share stories and or pictures of Daniel. We also want to let you know that we are having a Golf Tournament to raise money for Daniel on September 22, 2007 at the Country Club of Mount Dora. More information will follow so keep checking in.
